Robert Rauschenberg
Catalogue of Robert Rauschenberg's solo exhibition at the Museo d'Arte Moderna Ca' Pesaro in Venice, September-October 1975. Specimen of exceptional interest for the artist's autograph dedication in blue pen on the cover: 'Robert Rauschenberg for Milena', addressed in all probability to Milena Milani, Italian writer and art critic, prominent figure of the avant-garde of the late twentieth century and personal friend of the major artists of her time. The Venetian exhibition represented a significant moment in Rauschenberg's presence in Italy, a country with which the American artist maintained a privileged bond since his victory of the Grand Prize at the Venice Biennale of 1964. Publisher's wrappers with typographic cover in red bearing the artist's name in his characteristic lettering. Photographs by André Morin, Nir Bareket and Eric Pollitzer. Printed by Stamperia di Venezia. Documented provenance of great prestige that transforms an institutional catalogue into a collector's piece.
