Joan Miró, The Solar Bird, The Lunar Bird, Sparks - Vernissage Invitation Card
Rare original invitation card for the vernissage of the exhibition 'L'Oiseau Solaire, L'Oiseau Lunaire, Étincelles' by Joan Miró, held on 20 April 1967 at the prestigious Galerie Maeght in Paris. This folded card constitutes a graphic document of primary importance, containing three original colour lithographs executed by the Catalan artist and printed by the Atelier Mourlot. The cover presents the iconic black bird with vermillion red eye, while the interior shows the celebrated stylized signature 'Miró' with blue element, and the reverse a cosmic composition with white star and green form on anthracite grey background. Specimen in good overall condition, with the chromatic freshness typical of Mourlot prints of the period. Maeght invitation cards represent today an autonomous collecting category, sought after both by specialists in Mironian graphics and by collectors of ephemera from the Parisian avant-gardes of the late twentieth century.
