Three Sculptors: César, Roël d'Haese, Tinguely

Original catalogue of the 'Three Sculptors' exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, summer 1965. Brings together for the first time in a French institutional exhibition three masters of late twentieth-century European sculpture: César, celebrated for his automobile 'Compressions' and welded bronzes; the Belgian Roël d'Haese, exponent of Flemish sculptural surrealism; and the Swiss Jean Tinguely, pioneer of kinetic art and self-destructive machines. The color photographic cover on red ground documents iconic works by the three artists. Printed by Imprimerie Tournon with layout by Atelier Joubert, the volume represents an essential document for the study of Nouveau Réalisme and sculptural avant-gardes of the 1960s. Copy in good general condition, with normal patina of age on cover.
