Essay by French philosopher and critic Marc Beigbeder (1916-1997), prominent figure of Catholic personalism and collaborator of Emmanuel Mounier at the journal Esprit. The work opens with an unpublished epigraph by Mounier dated September 1941, a precious document of intellectual dialogue between the two thinkers during the Occupation. Copy in good condition with the characteristic period patina of Minuit paper, fresh interior. Testimony to the intellectual production of Éditions de Minuit in the post-war period, a publishing house born in the clandestinity of the Resistance.
