The Drawings of the Bargello

Rare first edition of this collection of satirical drawings by Ottone Rosai (1895-1957), one of the greatest Italian painters of the twentieth century, exponent of magic realism and already a protagonist of the Florentine futurist avant-garde. The volume documents Rosai's collaboration with 'Il Bargello', the weekly publication of the Florentine Fascist Federation founded in 1929, for which the artist created vignettes and propaganda illustrations. Copy in original gray publisher's wrappers with characteristic illustration by Rosai on the cover, depicting a reader of the newspaper.
