Photograph showing Corneille

Archival photograph showing Corneille at work on the large Pinocchio book for the “Arte-Città” exhibition at the Triennale di Milano, circa 1970.
Black-and-white photographic print depicting the artist Corneille, founder of the international COBRA group alongside Appel, Jorn, and Lindström, while working on a large illustrated page dedicated to the adventures of Pinocchio. Attached to the back is a typewritten description documenting the creation of the work at the Nuova Foglio studios in Pollenza, as part of the “Arte-Città” exhibition organized by Giulio Macchi for the Milan Triennale.
The text specifies that the work consisted of a monumental book over one meter tall, composed of 25 large Plexiglas pages reinforced with a metal frame, produced in an extremely limited edition of four copies. A photographic document of considerable historical and artistic interest, linked to Corneille, the COBRA movement, the Milan Triennale, and the artistic reinterpretation of Pinocchio.
