Mori el Merma - Claca Teatre, catalog set and two photographs

Rare catalogue of the theatrical production 'Mori el Merma' by the Catalan company Claca Teatre, published by Obra Cultural de La Caixa in 1978. The work features an extraordinary original lithographic cover by Joan Miró, with his unmistakable visual vocabulary: the cosmic eye, the star, vibrant primary colours on a grey photographic background. The title 'Mori el Merma' (Death to the Tyrant) appears handwritten by the artist on a newspaper clipping pasted on, a technique typical of his late graphic work. The interior photographs are by Francesc Català-Roca, master of Spanish documentary photography: JOAN MIRÓ, MARIONETTE/PUPAZZI TEATRALI - JOAN MIRÓ, MASCHERA SURREALISTA CON OCCHI A SPIRALE. An essential document of the collaboration between Miró and Catalan avant-garde theatre in the final years of Francoism, when the artist lent his art to cultural and political causes of his native land.
