Monsieur Ténor

Rare first edition of 'Monsieur Ténor' by Pierre Courthion, published by the prestigious Éditions G.L.M. of Guy Lévis-Mano in 1936. Copy no. 65 of an extremely limited edition of only 70 copies on fine Normandy Vellum teinté paper, hand-numbered and signed by the publisher at the colophon. The work is enhanced by an original etching by Kurt Seligmann, central figure of Swiss Surrealism who later emigrated to New York, where he became mentor to artists such as Jackson Pollock. Eighth cahier of the refined 'Repères' collection, this volume represents a paradigmatic example of Parisian avant-garde publishing production of the 1930s. Red publisher's wrappers in excellent condition, fresh interior. A collector's piece for lovers of Surrealist illustrated books and G.L.M. editions.
