MANZI, Giacomo. The Sacred Animal

MANZI, Giacomo. The Sacred Animal. Venice, Edizioni del Cavallino, 1966. First edition limited to 400 numbered copies, printed by Serigrafiche Ferappi of Vicenza under the supervision of the artist. Elegant publisher's cloth binding in red with characteristic polychrome decorative bands typical of Cavallino editions of the 1960s. The gallery-publisher founded by Carlo Cardazzo in 1942 represents one of the nerve centers of Italian contemporary art in the postwar period, having promoted artists such as Tancredi, Vedova, Santomaso and the protagonists of Spatialism. Cavallino publications, characterized by refined typographic care and limited print runs, are today sought after by collectors of twentieth-century Italian artist's books. Copy in good general preservation.
