Manifesto of the Futurist Painters

BOCCIONI, CARRÀ, RUSSOLO, BALLA, SEVERINI. Manifesto dei Pittori futuristi. Venice: Edizioni del Cavallino, 1950. 8vo oblong, illustrated editorial paperback with large typographic 'F' on blue background. First edition of the celebrated reprint realized on the occasion of the XXV Venice Biennale, which dedicated a historic room to the futurist movement. Edizioni del Cavallino, founded by gallerist Carlo Cardazzo, were protagonists in the dissemination of contemporary art in postwar Italy. This pamphlet reproduces the complete text of the original manifesto of February 11, 1910, signed by the five painters who revolutionized Italian art. Copy in generally good state of preservation, with slight signs of use consistent with age. Essential document for the history of Italian avant-gardes and for the critical fortune of Futurism in the second postwar period.
