Luciano Cherchi, La situazione poetica 1938-1968

A rare first edition of *La situazione poetica 1958–1968* by Luciano Cherchi, published by the prestigious Edizioni del Naviglio in Milan in 1968. A seminal work of Italian visual poetry, a movement that revolutionized the relationship between word and image in the 1960s. The rough canvas cover features a composition of scattered typographic symbols that foreshadow the content: a thirty-year journey through avant-garde poetic experimentation. Chefchi (active in the Milanese group linked to Vanni Scheiwiller and Edizioni del Naviglio) was a key figure in the dialogue between concrete poetry, kinetic art, and Gruppo 63. This copy bears the artist’s autograph on the cover, a feature that significantly enhances its documentary and collectible value. Edizioni del Naviglio represents one of the nerve centers of Italian avant-garde publishing, on par with Scheiwiller and Sampietro. Overall condition is good with normal signs of wear for a paperback volume over fifty years old. A work sought after by collectors of visual poetry, Italian Fluxus, and the historical avant-garde movements of the late 20th century.
