Hundertwasser is in the South Pacific

Catalogue of the traveling exhibition of Friedensreich Hundertwasser in New Zealand and Australia, 1973-1974, published by Gruener Janura AG of Glarus. Second edition (copies 25,001-50,000). Distinctive cover in polychrome metallized silkscreen on black cloth, reproducing 'Irinaland über dem Balkan' with the characteristic raindrops, stylized face and dreamlike architecture typical of the Viennese artist. Printed in Germany by Cicero GmbH of Stuttgart with photographs by L. Trenker of Vienna. Significant document from the period when Hundertwasser was guest of honor of the city of Auckland, prelude to his subsequent move to New Zealand where he would live until his death in 2000. The quality of the silkscreen printing on the cloth cover represents the artist's attention to the book-object as a work of art in itself.
