FARFA the Futurist

Rare catalogue of the solo exhibition of FARFA (Vittorio Osvaldo Tommasini, 1879-1964) at the prestigious Galleria Schwarz in Milan, February 1961. Original illustrated cover with color reproduction of an abstract-futurist work by the artist, signed. COPY ENRICHED WITH AUTOGRAPH DEDICATION TO MILENA MILANI, prominent Italian writer and artist, central figure in the postwar Milanese cultural scene and companion of gallerist Carlo Cardazzo. Galleria Schwarz, founded by Arturo Schwarz in 1954, was the epicenter of Milanese and international avant-gardes, with historic exhibitions of Duchamp, Man Ray and the Futurists. FARFA, poet and painter of the second generation of Futurism, was among the signatories of the Manifesto of Aeropainting (1929) and protagonist of the movement until his death. Ephemeral document of considerable historical-artistic interest, testimony to the relations between the last futurist avant-gardes and the world of contemporary Milanese art in the Sixties.
