Ernst Ludwig Kirchner - Exhibition Catalog
A rare, numbered catalog of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner’s solo exhibition held at the Galleria d’Arte Il Centro in Naples in 1964. Copy no. 164 of a limited edition of 1,000 hand-numbered copies, printed by Poligrafica & Cartevalori. The catalog documents 35 works on paper by the German Expressionist artist, co-founder of the Die Brücke group, including drawings, watercolors, and pastels created between 1907 and 1925. Subjects include his famous bathers, studio nudes, Alpine landscapes of Davos, and portraits of the model Fränzi. A significant document of the reception of German Expressionism in Italy in the 1960s, when Neapolitan galleries began introducing the historical European avant-garde to the southern Italian public.
