Printed in Elzévir Caslon type, body 20, in November 1948. Total print run of 650 copies, of which only 20 were enriched with an original color lithograph by Joan Miró printed by Mourlot. René Char (1907-1988), among the greatest French poets of the twentieth century, was connected to Surrealism in the 1930s before developing an autonomous poetic voice, celebrated for its lapidary intensity and the tension between Provençal nature and commitment to the Resistance. GLM was the leading publisher of French avant-garde poetry. Copy in good condition with normal patina of age.
