Capogrossi - Six Color Plates

Rare monographic portfolio dedicated to Giuseppe Capogrossi, published by the prestigious Edizioni del Cavallino of Carlo Cardazzo in Venice in 1954, the year of the artist's participation in the XXVII International Biennale. Contains six color plates documenting the mature phase of Capogrossi's sign-based language, characterized by the iconic comb-like forms and archaic symbols that made him one of the protagonists of Italian informal art. The publication belongs to the refined 'Arte Collection' of the Cavallino, which included monographs on other masters such as Campigli, Crippa, Gentilini and Guidi. Complete copy in original orange publisher's cover, with the characteristic typographic design of the period. The flap contains a detailed biography of the artist tracing his path from the Roman School to the Spatial Movement. Essential document for the history of post-war Venetian art publishing.
