Tono Zancanaro 12 Lithographs

Rare portfolio of 12 original lithographs by Tono Zancanaro (Padua 1906 - 1985), hand-printed by master lithographer Giuseppe Rosa at the celebrated Stamperia del Cavallino in Venice in September 1950. Extremely limited edition of only 150 numbered copies signed by the artist, with lithographic stones destroyed after printing to guarantee exclusivity. This copy bears number 42. The cover, illustrated by Zancanaro himself with his characteristic sensual and ironic line, depicts female figures and a centaur in a style that anticipates the mythological themes dear to the artist. The Edizioni del Cavallino, founded by Carlo Cardazzo in 1942, represent one of the most important workshops of Italian art publishing in the post-war period, with collaborations with the greatest artists of the twentieth century.
