Tono Zancanaro 12 Lithographs

Rare complete portfolio containing twelve original lithographs by Tono Zancanaro, master of Italian twentieth-century printmaking, hand-printed at the press by lithographer Giuseppe Rosa at the celebrated Stamperia del Cavallino in Venice in September 1950. Copy no. 117 of a limited edition of 150 copies, all signed and numbered by the artist. The lithographic stones were destroyed after printing, conferring on the edition the character of definitive uniqueness. The cover, illustrated by Zancanaro himself with his characteristic sensual and ironic line, depicts female figures and a stylized small horse, emblem of the Venetian gallery. Publication of Edizioni del Cavallino, the historic gallery-publisher founded by Carlo Cardazzo who was among the principal promoters of Italian contemporary art in the postwar period, publishing works by Morandi, Campigli, Music, Santomaso and other protagonists of the twentieth century.
