G. Ponti Rare Vintage Fruit Stand, 1940

Beautiful and rare Silver-plated metal fruit or cake stand made in the 1940s by the fine Italian manufacture Krupp Milano.
The riser consists of round saucer underneath with the edges more raised, which gives more stability to the object.
The actual riser has a narrower round base from which rises in hemispherical central body. The top appears to be satin-finished and the underneath polished.
Excellent piece of furniture for tasteful dining rooms.
